Aaron and I in Las Cruces

My name is Rosario, but Rosie works just fine. I am a 25 year old student at the University of New Mexico getting my degree in Bachelor of University Studies.  After I graduate next Spring, Aaron and I will hopefully be off to graduate school for our Masters in Student Affairs.  I originally transfered here from the University of Oklahoma where I was an engineering student.

I am currently working for a the Triple-A affiliate for the Florida Marlins, the Albuquerque Isotopes as the Community Relations Assistant. I love my job. I am also in the Minority Undergraduates Fellows Program and just got back from Tampa for the NASPA Conference.
I am also one of the ladies who started M.A.D.R.E.S (Mothers Acheving Dreams Reaching Educational Success).  It is a group for moms on campus to come and talk about issues, what we are going through and just to have a support group.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas! I love Texas and miss it a lot. I have lived here in Albuquerque for almost three years now and have grown to like it and call it my home.  The weather here is great and I love the mountains, but I definately miss the big city at times.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Movies- Wedding Planner, Bad Boys I & II, My Best Friends Wedding, Major Payne, Legeally Blonde

TV Shows- The OC, Friends, Seventh Heaven, Extreme Home Makeover;  Desperate House Wives, Sports Center,

Colors- Red, yellow, blue

Teams- Astros, Oklahoma Sooners, Texans, Rockets,

Music- Rap, R&B, Salsa, Merengue; Jon B., Jagged Edge, 2 Pac, Lil Flip, Miles Davis, JayZ, Boyz II Men, Maroon 5, Simple Plan

Aaron and I met in the fall of 2001 at Raza Junta.  We became friends pretty quick after that.  I went to all his basketball games and we spent a lot of time together. It wasn't long after that that I knew I was in love with him.

In January we had a few issues and spent some time apart. We spet the whole summer apart when he left and spent the summer in Mass. with his dad.  I definately missed him a lot.  But when he came back we talked and began to pick up from there.

It seemed like the fall semester went by fast and I went home to Houston for a month during Christmas break, and of course I missed him so much.  Then in March we found out that we would be expecting a baby.  It was pretty shocking for both of us, but it has been a wonderful experience.

Aaron is my best friend and the love of my life. I am really excited about how our life is going to be changing.  I don't know what I would do without him in my life now.

Aaron and I met in Fall 2001 when I transfered to UNM.  I would have to say the moment I met him I fell in love with him and knew that I wanted to be with him for the rest of my life.  He is my very best friend, greatest father and the love of my life.

I am so proud to say that Aaron graduates on May 14th with his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication! Oh my gosh I could not be more proud of him! Aaron loves to write and is one of the best writers I have ever met. You can tell he has such a strong passion for wiriting.

Afer Aaron graduates in May, he is going to Mass. for an internship at Bridgewater. I am sad that he is leaving but I am so proud of him and all he has accomplished.  Hopefully next year after I graduate we will be off to graduate school together to get our Masters in Student Affairs. Just wait, one day you will be able to say that Dr. Salas is the president of your university...watch out!!

Besides being a great writer he is a great baskeball player and most of all a great friend and father. Aaron is also a brother of Omega Delta Phi fraternity and has accomplished so much being a part of that organization. For the past two summers Aaron was a part of LOBOrientation and I know made an impact on so many student's lives.
